Route 17 was closed between Wawa and Sault-Sainte-Marie for part of the morning due to inclement weather.
Highway 11 was closed between Beardmore and Nipigon due to a collision.
It was also closed between North Bay and Matheson due to weather.
In the early morning, several schools in the area stopped their student transport service.
The Sudbury Student Services Consortium has canceled school transportation in Sudbury, Espanola, Massey and Manitoulin districts.
Transport has also been suspended in the Sault-Sainte-Marie region and parts of the Algoma region, including the towns of Echo Bay, Bruce Mines, Desbarats, Île Saint-Joseph and Thessalon.
Bad weather also forced school transport to be canceled in the Wawa, White River and Dubreuilville sectors.
Transport was also canceled at Longlac and Geraldton due to the weather.
Some school transport will also be canceled in the eastern sector of Parry Sound and adjacent towns.
However, the schools remain open.
