The Kings will play two preseason games in Quebec

The National Hockey League (NHL) team will also play the final two games of its preseason schedule there, on October 3 against the Boston Bruins and on October 5 against the Florida Panthers, as indicated in the standings Quebec Journal in its Tuesday morning edition.

The NHL’s last visit to Quebec was more than five years ago. In fact, the NHL has not hosted a preseason game at the Videotron Center since September 20, 2018, when the Montreal Canadiens crossed swords with the Washington Capitals.

“It is a real privilege to welcome an organization as prestigious as the Los Angeles Kings to the final week of their training camp,” said Martin Tremblay, chief operating officer of the Sports and Entertainment Group of Quebecor and president of Gestev.

The Quebec government will subsidize the holding of the event “by assuming responsibility for excess expenditure on the revenue generated thereby.”

A presale will be available for Center Vidéotron and Remparts newsletter subscribers on Thursday November 16th, while sales for the general public will begin on Friday November 17th at 10am lecentrevideotron.ca.

The Videotron Center opened its doors on September 12, 2015 in hopes of attracting a possible NHL franchise. Currently this building is the home of the Quebec Remparts in the QMJHL.

The Nordiques played in Quebec from 1972 to 1995 before moving to Colorado and being renamed the Avalanche.
