Legal Immigration to Canada: Destination Manitoba Days in Abidjan August 17-19

Ambassadors Anderson Blanc, Salimata Soro and Gérard Hielpo urged Ivorians to use legal immigration channels.

Immigrate and legally work in Canada. This is the credo of Destination Manitoba Days being organized in Abidjan from August 17-19, 2023 by the Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities Development Council (Cdem) in partnership with the Embassy of Canada in Côte d’Ivoire.

The event was officially opened this Thursday, July 20, at the Ivotel Plateau, in the presence of Anderson Blanc, Canadian Ambassador, Anderson Assui, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister for Youth Promotion, Professional Integration and Civic Service (Mpjipsc), and Gérard Hielpo, Communications Officer for the Ministerial Delegate at the Ministry of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Diaspora.

Anderson Blanc urged Ivorians wishing to live and work in Canada to use legal immigration channels.

Also responding to this option are Destination Manitoba Days, soon to be held in the Ivorian economic capital.

He pointed out that the Manitoba Candidate Program (Pcm) is the main channel for immigrant arrivals in this Canadian province.

In turn, Anderson Assui and Gérard Hielpo supported the Cdem initiative. They marked the commitment of the state of Côte d’Ivoire together with the organizers of “Destination Manitoba”.

Salimata Soro, Cdem director of employability and economic immigration, praised Manitoba’s strengths.

“Life in Manitoba is enriched by the contribution of a vibrant French-speaking community, the presence of a French-speaking school system and an enviable quality of life,” she said. Before the appointment with the Ivorians in the 3e week in August.
