In “Pokémon Go”, players used their phones to hunt creatures that they could imagine both in their living room and in a park.

“The longer you sleep, the higher your morning score will be,” the company announced the new game Pokémon Sleep, which will be released in most countries around the world this summer.

Trailers for the new game suggest it will combine a smartphone sleep tracker with the game.

“Your adventure takes place on a small island where you will explore how Pokémon sleep. You’ll be working with a large Snorlax that lives on the island and Neroli, a professor who studies Pokemon sleep styles,” the company added in a press release issued late Monday night.

“The longer you sleep, (…) the more Pokémon will appear around Snorlax,” the company said, urging players to “get better rest!”.

Fans can also purchase a “Pokémon GO Plus+” — a Poké Ball-shaped gadget that users can place next to their pillow, with Pikachu’s voice delivering “sweet messages when it’s time to wake up or go to sleep.”

Launched in 2016, the game “Pokémon Go” is an international phenomenon.

The free-to-play game uses satellite locations, graphics, and cameras to overlay cartoon characters in real-world environments, challenging players to capture and tame the “creature monsters.”

But the players have been accused of being responsible for road accidents and other crimes while roaming the streets with their noses to their phones.

Pokémon has been a worldwide hit since its introduction as a role-playing game in 1996 on Nintendo’s Game Boy console. The franchise, taglined “Gotta Catch ‘Em All,” also includes movies and a hugely popular animated TV show.
