The CH restarts the machine in Washington

The Montreal Canadiens will be back in action tonight when they visit the Capitals in Washington.

Samuel Montembeault will be the starting goaltender for this first game in 10 days.

This will be the second confrontation of the season between the two teams. On October 21st, CH won 3-2 in overtime in front of their fans.

Before you go on vacation, Martin St-Louis' men lost 3-2 to the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtimeand suffered their fourth defeat in five games. They ended the month of January with a record of 5-5-3 in 13 games.

The “Caps”, for their part, have lost their last four meetings.

With the departure of Sean Monahan during the All-Star break, Tanner Pearson will take on more responsibility while he awaits the return of Alex Newhook, likely next weekend. At practice on Monday, Pearson replaced Monahan in the first session.

It will be interesting to see what the Montreal team will look like against the Caps. Will Lucas Condotta be in uniform on Sunday? Now that he has a valid NHL contract, will Brandon Gignac play his first game for the CH? Will St-Louis continue to use 11 forwards and seven defensemen?
