The alpine ski slopes of Club Tobo-Ski in Saint-Félicien are still closed

The ski center explained in a Facebook post on Friday that a lightning strike caused major damage to the double chairlift last summer.

Lightning struck the ski lift that summer, causing extensive damage to several components. Since then, our team has been working in cooperation with control and electrical specialists to replace the defective components of the circuit.it is stated in this message.

However, other activities such as sliding and cross-country skiing were possible before the closure due to Friday’s mild weather. The bicycle with oversized tires and snowshoes, on the other hand, cannot yet be practiced.

Trees that fell on the paths during the Dec. 23 storm were also scheduled to be removed on Friday.

The elevator has been repaired but the problem persists. Only the school slope equipped with a treadmill is open.

The Ontario-based device maker is said to be sending a team in the next few days.

The mayor of Saint-Félicien, Luc Gibbons, indicates that the city will examine the possibility of refunding season pass holders if the ski lift of the municipal ski center cannot be put back into service.
