An athlete from Saint-Lazare selected for a cross-country team

Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu is proud to announce the arrival of a new competitive cross-country team for the 2023-2024 season. Samantha Wood from Saint-Lazare, from the school physical education program The Voltigeurs from Bourget College, was selected to join the team. She has been doing triathlon for seven years and is a member of the Vaudreuil-Dorion Athletics Club.

The mixed team also consists of: Béatrice Filion, Florence Clouâtre, Émile Boucher, Zacharie Marleau,

At the beginning of the Fall 2023 semester, additional student-athletes will join these individuals to form a team of ten to 15 athletes. The participation of this new team in the provincial championship as well as in the Canadian championship is due to the affiliation of the team to theCanadian Colleges Athletic Association.

The team is coached by Mr. Sean Lajeunesse, who has over 22 years of experience as a cross country coach in Ontario, Montreal’s south coast and Haut-Richelieu. He is also a coachAthletics on the south bank for more than five years and physical education teacher at theMarcelin-Champagnat High School. To date he has trained over 300 athletes.
