Foodtastic — which already has several banners, including Second Cup, Pita Pit and Milestones — just acquired Quesada Burritos & Tacos, which operates 175 restaurants in eight provinces.

“Quesada is one of the nation’s leading quick service restaurant brands, and we are excited to welcome this fast-growing brand to the Foodtastic family,” said Peter Mammas, President and CEO of Foodtastic, in a statement. We look forward to working with all of our new franchisees and growing the brand in Canada. »

Quesada was founded in 2004 and started the boom in the burrito category in Canada. “We are extremely proud of our franchise partners, our frontline employees and our management team,” said Steve Gill, Quesada’s founder and CEO, in a statement. With their support, we’ve grown Quesada from a single store to over 175 locations in eight provinces. We look forward to the future of the brand and are confident that our franchisees will reach new levels of success by being part of Foodtastic. »

With the acquisition of Quesada, Foodtastic’s Canadian system will have more than 900 restaurants and $830 million in revenue. It plans to continue expanding the brand, with more than 50 new locations set to open over the next 36 months, and is also growing rapidly internationally with more than 100 restaurants outside of Canada.
