World premiere in Rimouski
“Le temps d'un été”, the highest grossing Canadian film of 2023, is a dramatic comedy directed by Louise Archambault and starring Patrice Robitaille, Guy Nadon, Élise Guilbault, Martin Dubreuil and Sébastien Ricard.
Before the film was released in cinemas on July 14th, the world premiere took place ten days earlier at the Lido cinema in Rimouski. Several actors and production team members also visited Sainte-Luce, which became Sainte-Blandine-sur-Mer in the film.
“We are very proud. We look forward to seeing the results of all these efforts. People will recognize our beautiful landscapes. This is a great promotional window for Sainte-Luce and we invite film fans to see the filming locations for themselves. We predict great success for this film,” said Mayor Micheline Barriault at the time.
Sainte-Luce played a key role in the filming. The Public Works Department and the Fire Protection Department were called in. Several of its citizens acted as extras.
Call of Providence
Marc Côté, street priest and pastor, has lived with the poor and homeless for more than 25 years. Exhausted and stressed by the bills he can no longer pay, Marc has to face the facts: he has to close his church, a real refuge.
At a call from Providence, he inherits an estate in Bas-du-Fleuve and decides to take with him a group of homeless people who, like him, need a vacation.
Marc-André Leclair, Justin Leyrolles-Bouchard, Cedric Keka Shako, Louise Turcot, Pierre Verville, Océane Kitura Bohémier-Tootoo, Josée Deschênes, Gilbert Sicotte, Normand Chouinard, Geneviève Rochette and Bruce Dinsmore complete the cast.
The feature film achieved the best box office for a Quebec film since “Liar,” which was released in July 2019.
It is now available to rent and purchase via the transaction platforms Videotron, Bell, Cogeco, Telus, Cineplex, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Google Play, Telus and iTunes.
