The British company Evident has developed an index that ranks the major banks in Europe and North America according to their AI capabilities. European banks are clearly dominated by North Americans. In fourth place, UBS stands out as the best major European bank.
Does UBS stand out from the big global banks in terms of its use of AI technologies? This is actually the case, at least according to the index developed by the British company Evident. UBS ranks fourth in the Evident AI Index, which ranks the 23 largest banks in Europe and North America based on their AI capabilities.
The Evident AI Index shows that the major European banks are still lagging behind the North American banks in this area. JP Morgan leads the index, followed by the Royal Bank of Canada and the American Citigroup. Only three European banks are in the top 10. UBS, the best major European bank in this ranking, as well as Dutch ING (7th) and French BNP Paribas (10th).
According to the company Evident its ranking is based on 143 indicators drawn from millions of publicly available data points. Including company reports and a range of third-party data sources. Evident says its index was created with input from more than 50 AI and banking experts. Each of the banks received a score from 1 to 100 on four main dimensions: Talent, Innovation, Leadership and Transparency.
