The Canadian government is committed to supporting Canadians from the playground to the podium. Supporting sport encourages people to stay active while bringing communities across the country together in a spirit of healthy competition.
Today, the Honorable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sport and Minister in Charge of Canada’s Economic Development Agency for the Regions of Quebec, announced $1,179,495 to Biathlon Canada for 2022-2023, of which $27,000 will go to sports safety are determined.
Thanks to this investment, the organization has the financial means to carry out its day-to-day activities, to promote biathlon among Canadians and to support the high-calibre athletes who represent us nationally and internationally, while providing a safe for athletes around the world Canada. Funding includes $325,000 to host the eighth and ninth International Biathlon Union (UIB) Cups on February 22-28 and February 1ah to March 4, 2023 in Canmore, Alberta.
As the largest funder of the sports system in Canada, the Canadian government is proud to invest in the development of Canadian athletes and the national and multisport organizations that support them, and in the hosting of international sporting events.
