The army reprimands two officers for flouting rules on sexual misconduct

Colonel Colin Marks and Lt. Col. Corey Mask were indicted after an informal meeting where nicknames and callsigns were assigned to new membersover a drink at one of Canada’s two major air force bases, 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alberta.

During this meeting, which took place in June, several fighter pilots assigned a callsign inappropriate to another driver. L’BOW accused the two officers have not performed [leurs] Responsibilities and failure to effectively implement Defense Administration directives and orders.

Col. Colin Marks lost eight days of salary while Lt. Col. Corey Mask lost five days.

The charges were not criminal, and the hearings were conducted by other Cold Lake base officials. Corresponding’BOWImpartiality is nevertheless guaranteed since the officers involved in the proceedings had no relationship with the colonel and lieutenant colonel.

The Royal Canadian Air Force says the incident has sparked a culture shift in its ranks.

In a written statement, she urges her members to learn from the incident so that Culture evolves into a [environnement] respectful to which everyone can contribute positively.

The statement adds that the military took steps to formalize the callsign tradition to be consistent with Air Force values.
