(Montreal) An agreement in principle was reached Thursday between Loto-Québec and the Quebec Government Workers’ and Employed Union (SPGQ), whose members went on strike earlier this month.

This has been confirmed by Crown Corporation and SPGQ.

The employment contract for specialist employees expired on December 31, 2021. The agreement in principle must be presented to the members in a timely manner.

Loto-Québec’s 455 professionals — all represented by the SPGQ — went on strike Aug. 8-12.

Loto-Quebec workers voted in July for a strike mandate of up to 20 days, Monday through Friday. He had also approved an indefinite general strike mandate every weekday from 6:31 p.m. to 6:59 a.m., Saturdays and Sundays and public holidays.

Loto-Québec professionals work in information technology, communications, sales and marketing, finance, procurement and real estate, and legal.
