The Canadians just conceded two real “volleys” against the Panthers and the Capitals and are probably experiencing their most difficult moment of the season.
Luckily for the Habs players, especially the young ones, the man at the helm of the team is called Martin St-Louis, which is good news given the circumstances, former CH Maxim Lapierre said at the ‘after-match’ on Saturday.
“In my opinion, Martin St-Louis is the ideal coach in the current situation,” he said after the 9-2 loss to the Capitals. It’s just that he’ll keep it positive. On his journey, in his career, he will never give up. He will always find a way to help these young people.
Lapierre believes St-Louis will continue to focus on developing its promising players and help them weather this storm.
But while the organization appears to be heading for a rather complicated end to the season, should they still take on the duty of keeping their fans interested?
“I think the 9-2 loss will take its toll and I don’t think (general manager) Kent Hughes can let things go,” said host Dave Morissette, who believes change is possible and even desirable.
