Review of Huawei technology at 5G rollout in Germany continues

BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – Possible restrictions imposed on the Chinese technology groups Huawei and ZTE in the expansion of the 5G mobile network in Germany remain open. If it turns out that Huawei and ZTE components pose a security risk, the federal government will not only ban mobile operators from using them, but will also ask them to adapt their facilities accordingly. The United States has long warned Germany against interference by Huawei in the mobile network. Several countries, including the United States and Canada, have already excluded Huawei and ZTE network technology from their markets.
