Recall of high chairs because of the risk of falling

Health Canada issued a recall for Lancaster Table & Seating brand high chairs on February 23 due to the risk of falls.

This recall affects Lancaster Table & Seating branded high chairs. The high chairs are available in black (item number: 164HIGHCBK/CUP: 400013729651), mahogany (item number: 164HIGHCMO/CUP: 400013729774), natural (item number: 164HIGHCNAT/CUP: 400013729705) or walnut (item number: 164HIGHHCWN/CUP: 70907013) for assembled. For ready to assemble: black finish (Article number: 164HIGHCKDBK/CUP: 400013729736), mahogany finish (Article number: 164HIGHCKDMO/CUP: 400013729781), natural finish (Article number: 164HIGHCKDNT/CUP: 400013729750) and walnut finish (Article number: 164HIGHCKDNT/CUP: 400013729750) and walnut finish (Article number: 164HIGHCKDMO/CUP: 400013729750) 400013729798).

Only high chairs made in China are affected. “Made in China” or “Made in ____” is printed on the warning label on the front of the seatback and on the product label under the seat cushion. The model number is printed on a label under the seat cushion.

OUTPUT

Affected high chairs can break during use and pose a risk of falling for children.

As of February 6, 2023, no incidents or injuries have been reported to the company in Canada. In the United States, the company had three reports of high chairs breaking during use and children falling, but received no reports of injuries.

WHAT TO DO

Consumers should stop using the recalled highchairs immediately and contact Clark Associates for a free replacement highchair or a refund in the form of store credit.
