ATLANTA, March 7, 2023 – Pratt & Whitney Canada, a business unit of Pratt & Whitney, today announced the launch of a flight kit of mission-critical helicopter engine parts and tools to promote equipment availability and operator autonomy. This kit is offered to customers participating in the maintenance program EagleTM (ESPMC) payable per hour from Pratt & Whitney Canada.

“Like the first aid kit, the flight kit is retained by the customer or their maintenance center who can use it when necessary to ensure an aircraft’s operational readiness,” explains Christopher (Scott) McElvaine, vice president, business development and commercial services, Pratt & Whitney Canada. The flight kit is available to ESP™ registered customers operating aircraft with the following engine models: PT6C-67C, PW207C, PW206C, PW206B2 or B3 and PW207D1 or D2. It is a compact and lightweight case provided to customers containing all necessary engine parts and tools. It includes special cables, an igniter exciter, Stabilant 22, tools to facilitate endoscope inspection of engines, spare parts such as fuel and oil filter components, retaining rings and sealing devices. The aim is to put a helicopter back into service as quickly and efficiently as possible. By using the right parts and tools, customers avoid delays in the delivery of parts, as well as shipping and customs issues.

“We introduced this concept to our business jet engine customers a few years ago,” says McElvaine. Judging by the good response at the time, the flight kit should also be a complete success with the customers of our helicopter engines. »

Services Hub, new platform from Pratt & Whitney Canada

In October 2022, Pratt & Whitney Canada started Hub Services, its new digital self-service tool. It offers customers and professionals a guided online experience to help them quickly and easily find the most suitable maintenance products and services for their aircraft and engine model.
