Raytheon Technologies: Pratt & Whitney Canada will open an MRO center for PW800 engines for business aviation in Germany in cooperation with MTU Aero Engines

ORLANDO, Fla. October 17, 2022 Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), a division of Pratt & Whitney, announced today that a second maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility for PW800 engines will open in Germany in 2024 thanks to a long-term collaboration with MTU Aero Engines becomes .

We have worked with Pratt & Whitney Canada on the PW300 engine family since 1985 and have also provided support during the development of the PW800 program. This new MRO facility, which will be dedicated to servicing PW800 engines, will be located in Berlin-Brandenburg and will open its doors by 2024.

The PW800 is the most modern, efficient and environmentally friendly engine in its class. It offers more than 10% improvements in fuel consumption, noise and emissions compared to the current generation of engines.

The PW800 engine powers Gulfstream’s G500 and G600, which entered service in 2018 and 2019 respectively; It was also chosen by the same aircraft manufacturer to power the G400. The PW800 will also power Dassault’s Falcon 6X, which is due to enter service shortly. This collaboration with MTU follows a US$30 million investment by P&WC in its Bridgeport, West Virginia facility, which was selected as the first MRO center for PW800 family engines.
