Nathan Rourke’s “Showcase” will have to wait

Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke won’t be able to show his skills to NFL teams this week after all.

On Monday, the TSN network learned that the 24-year-old footballer has contracted the flu. He will be entitled to his “showcase” next week.

Rourke caught a virus on his trip to Regina. He spent part of last week in Saskatchewan as part of the Gray Cup. He was competing for an individual award and was named the Canadian Football League’s (CFL) Most Outstanding Canadian Player in 2022.

The BC Lions representative just wrapped up his first season as a regular. Limited to 10 games due to a foot injury, he still had 3,349 yards and 25 touchdowns. He was also the victim of 10 thefts.

The Victoria, BC native also completed 78.7% of his passing attempts, which is a CFL record.

Unless Rourke lands an NFL contract, he has hinted that he intends to get back behind Lions Center in 2024.

The Calgary Stampeders offensive lineman also demonstrated Monday in front of representatives of the Philadelphia Eagles.
