Midjourney is temporarily ending the free trials of its image generator

According to the company’s CEO, David Holz, in a Discord chat, popular artificial intelligence (AI)-based imaging software Midjourney will become paid-only during the rollout of a patch.

In the past few weeks, Midjourney users have been generating deepfakes (deepfakes) went viral online. The most popular include images of ex-US President Donald Trump handcuffed or Pope Francis wearing a modern white coat Washington Post.

Although these fake images were generated by version 5 of Midjourney, a paid software and the company’s most advanced, they seem to have piqued the interest of the curious and inquisitive, who flocked to the site for free trials from a previous version.
