There’s an old hockey cliché that if you get injured, it’s the other players’ fault. On the blue line, the Canadian has to make do with four rookies due to the absence of Joel Edmundson and Mike Matheson.
If Kaiden Guhle has been attracting Reflectors since the start of the season thanks to his inspired play, Jordan Harris is also one of the key players in the defender brigade.
Harris has broken the 19-minute mark in four of CH’s first five games. The No. 54 forms a very good duo with another rookie, Johnathan Kovacevic, a defenseman acquired from the Winnipeg Jets on waivers before the start of the season.
“Jordan is playing very well,” said head coach Martin St-Louis. I like his skating and I think he defends his territory really well. He defends with his feet and his hockey. He’s also quite physical, but most of all he has a good defensive stance. We don’t talk much about Jordan, but he gets the job done.

Since the start of the regular season, the CH 2018 third-round pick has received an assist and has a +5 difference. The 22-year-old American also showed he’s not afraid to sacrifice his body with 13 blocked shots. In this category, he finds himself in second place on the team behind David Savard (27 blocked shots).
The former NCAA Northeastern Huskies captain made 10 appearances at the end of last season and scored a +3 goal.
♦ The CH was due to hold a training session at the Bell Center at 11:30 this morning. However, Martin St-Louis had to cancel it due to a burst water main.
