The Montreal Canadiens have named France Margaret Bélanger president of sports and entertainment for Groupe CH.
Bélanger has been the Canadiens’ executive vice president and director of commercial affairs since January 2017 and has worked for the organization since 2013. In May 2020, she took over as head of the entertainment sector, while continuing to oversee legal and public affairs and community relations.
She will continue to focus on everything related to marketing, event planning and commercial aspects of the CH Group, which includes Canadian and Evenko. “Together with our talented teams, we will continue to develop and execute prestigious sports and entertainment events through our brands, creating unique and unforgettable experiences for the world’s best fans,” Bélanger said in a statement.
Bélanger previously gained extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions during his 18 years at Stikeman Elliott.

Molson will retain his responsibilities as president of the Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin will continue to report to him.
Bélanger also sits on the NHL Board of Governors alongside Molson as the Canadiens’ deputy governor. In 2020, she was selected by Commissioner Gary Bettman to serve on the NHL’s Executive Inclusion Council.
