Hutson and Boston University defeated in the Beanpot final

Lane Hutson almost won the prestigious Beanpot, a tournament that pits four Boston-area NCAA teams against each other. Unfortunately, Boston University lost 4-3 in overtime to Northeastern University on Monday night at TD Garden, home of the Bruins.

The Montreal Canadiens junior scored the goal that gave his team the lead at the end of the second period, but Jack Williams took advantage of a power play in the third period to tie the game.

Gunnarwolfe Fontaine – an absolutely spectacular name, it must be mentioned – then decided the debate in extra time.

Hutson used a nice three-on-three maneuver to try in vain to give his team the win.

Prodigy Macklin Celebrini, selected with the first pick in the 2024 draft, also scored black in a losing cause.

Northeastern University, an overlooked team in this final, was largely dominant in terms of shot count (36-17).
