Gary McNamara is losing his seat as Chair of the Windsor-Essex Board of Health

Gary McNamara, who served on the board of Windsor-Essex’s public health department for 24 years, including several years as chairman, said he was disappointed not to have been reappointed. Nevertheless, he draws a very positive balance of his activities and achievements within the institution. It provides an overview of the challenges and follow-up topics in the coming year.

The Department of Health regulates and oversees mandatory programs and policies established by the Ontario Department of Health. It consists of four representatives from the city of Windsor, four representatives from the county and representatives from Pelee Island and representatives from the province.

Windsor Councilors Renaldo Agostino, Fabio Costante, Fred Francis and Angelo Marignani are among the new members joining the Regional Health Board’s Health Committee.

A health department spokeswoman emailed the report that a new chair and vice chair will be elected at the next health committee meeting on Jan. 19.
