Federal Budget: You said…

The federal budget 2023, tabled this Tuesday, March 28th, by Treasury Secretary Chrystia Freeland appears to be attracting his share of comments. Here are a few:

The Government of Ontario:

“Our government thanks the federal government for working with us on a number of areas to help Ontario families, workers and businesses.” — Peter Bethlenfalvy, Secretary of the Treasury.

The federal budget.

“The Government of Canada’s 2023 Budget provides important support in response to theAnti-Inflation Act through investment tax credits for clean power, including for small modular reactors, and for clean technology manufacturing and critical mineral extraction.”

“We also welcome the federal government’s investment in the Strategic Innovation Fund to support the creation and application of clean technologies.”

“We note that the Ring of Fire was not mentioned in the budget. This is a missed opportunity for workers, for Canada’s growing electric vehicle and battery supply chains, and for Northern Ontario and Indigenous communities.”
