Danick Martineau makes a dream come true by hosting the Montreal Canadiens Skills Competition

ANIMATION. Danick Martineau never thought his humorous work would propel him forward within the Montreal Canadiens organization. However, this happened on February 19, when the young man moderated the Sainte-Flanelle Skills Competition in front of a crowded Bell Center.

“I’ve been living a boy’s dream from the start,” he says, “I’ve known since I was in 3rd grade that I want to be a comedian. I put all my energy into it and work hard to make myself known. If you’d told me that one day all of this would open the doors of Bell Center for me and get to meet the Canadiens players, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. However, this happened a few days ago. »

However, the connection between the Montreal Canadiens and the Coaticookois is not yet in its infancy. Danick Martineau has already promoted the formation’s e-sports events and has also spoken about the clothing brand Tricolore Sports with his thousands of subscribers on the various social media platforms. “When they thought of me hosting the professional competition, I was filled with pride. As it was an event presented in the morning, many families would be present, so I fitted in well with the type of entertainment that the organization wanted to offer viewers,” says the one who says he took more than 200 photos with young fans that day.

During his animation, Danick Martineau was able to speak to Juraj Slafkovsky and Kaiden Guhle, a moment he won’t soon forget.

In addition to his work as master of ceremonies, the young comedian was allowed to spend some time with some CH players as part of his duties. “Before an event started, I interviewed Juraj Slafkovsky [le premier choix au repêchage du Canadien l’an dernier] and Kaiden Guhle, who are two of my favorite players. They’re full of talent and they’re big 6p4 guys. Sitting between the two, let’s say I looked pretty small. Once I made a mistake by calling them and switching their names. It created a little funny moment and a nice moment of complicity between us,” he laughs.

Danick Martineau will continue his association with the Montreal Canadiens over the next few weeks. Among other things, he participated in the Radio TéléDON of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. “I can also host their esports finals. Content creation excites me a lot. I’ll let her come to me and I’ll certainly put both feet up in whatever adventures come my way. »

ANIMATOR AT THE QUEBEC GAMES

The good news multiplies for Danick Martineau. The latter will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2024 Quebec Games, to be held near Sherbrooke next year. “Everything that has to do with youth and sport appeals to me. And since the event took place in the region where I grew up, I couldn’t say no. So it was a perfect match, ”launched the main prospect.

The Coaticook youngster will also host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Quebec Games, which will be held in Sherbrooke next year.

Although he has never participated in these competitions himself, he knows very well that the athletes who will gather in the Queen City of the Eastern Townships are great athletes. “In any case, I will watch some competitions, especially in hockey. I dream of seeing a clash between Montreal and Estrie. I’d also like to explore other sports I’m less familiar with to broaden my horizons a bit. These young people will certainly impress me. I can’t wait to see it all. »
