CH's possible goaltender of the future at the top of the NCAA

Jacob Fowler, who is considered a possible goaltender of the future for the Montreal Canadiens, had the best performance on Friday night in a duel with Lane Hutson, another candidate from the organization.

In a matchup between the first- and second-ranked teams in the NCAA, Fowler stopped 26 of 27 shots his way and helped Boston College to a 4-1 victory over Boston University.

Hutson and prodigy Macklin Celebrini, who are expected to be No. 1 overall at the 2024 auction, ended the evening with no points and a record of -3.

Fowler, the No. 1 goaltender on the NCAA's top team, leads the league with 17 wins, tied with Kyle McClellan of the University of Wisconsin.

The American goaltender was the star of the behind-the-scenes video of the 2023 draft released by the Canadiens. Fowler was the subject of a heated debate between recruiters Billy Ryan and Vincent Riendeau during pre-selection meetings. The Canadians took him in the third round, 69th overall.
