CH's unfortunate sequence occurred in the second period when the visitors were leading 1-0.

Chris Kreider got the ball rolling. He was then imitated by Will Cuylle and Mika Zibanejad (penalty kick). The Blueshirts' number 20 did it again, using a numerical advantage to register his team's fourth player.

Juraj Slafkovsky gave Bleu-Blanc-Rouge hope before the end of the middle period. The Slovakian took advantage of a great move from Cole Caufield to keep the puck in the opponent's zone and beat Jonathan Quick with a great wrist shot. The first player selected in the 2022 draft has recorded at least one point in his last seven games.

The Rangers didn't let their rivals dream of a triumphant comeback in the third period. Vincent Trocheck, Kreider and Kaapo Kakko registered on the mark in this third. This was also the case with Caufield, who scored two goals in a losing cause. The Sainte-Flanelle sniper now has 19 goals to his name in 2023-2024.

The Canadian's first goal was the work of Jake Evans in the first period. The center player took advantage of his comeback and scored the first goal in the second game in a row.

In front of the Habs cage, Samuel Montembeault blocked 24 of the 31 pucks sent his way. Quick, for his part, made 29 saves.

The Canadian will return to action on Saturday during a visit to the Washington Capitals at the Bell Centre.
