TORONTO — In addition to offering stamps, packaging and delivery services, Canada Post is now offering credit to Canadians as it officially partners with TD Bank Group.

According to Crown Corporation, the loan program is designed to provide more financial opportunity for Canadians across the country, including in rural, remote and Indigenous communities.

The program will allow Canada Post employees to help customers apply for credit online or over the phone, while TD Bank Group will assist customers with the application, decision-making and financing process.

Canada Post says it launched pilot programs last fall before expanding them nationwide in recent weeks.

According to Canada Post, personal loans start at $1,000 and have flexible repayment terms based on TD Bank Group interest rates.
