Brandon Gignac was finally rewarded, Lucas Condotta recalled

The Canadiens announced two pieces of news on Sunday morning: forward Brandon Gignac signed a two-year contract and forward Lucas Condotta was called up from the American League.

Gignac could potentially be recalled by the major club, which was not possible with his previous agreement, which was only valid in the American League.

He played 43 games for the Laval Rocket this season. The 26-year-old Quebecer leads the CH Farm Club in goals (14), assists (28) and points (42). He currently sits fifth in the American League points standings.

Gignac has scored 154 points in 267 games with Albany, Binghamton and Laval since his debut in 2016.

He joined the Canadiens organization on July 29, 2021 by signing a contract with the Rocket.

He was selected in the third round (80th overall) of the 2016 draft by the New Jersey Devils and played only one game in the NHL on March 9, 2019.

For his part, Condotta will be with the Canadiens for the second time this year, having played two games in the Montreal jersey before the mandatory NHL break.

He has five goals and eight assists in 40 games for the Rocket this season.
