The WEmap Jobs online tool makes it easier for job seekers in Southwestern Ontario by identifying where available jobs are available on an interactive map of the region.
It was the desire to give people the opportunity to find available jobs that are easily accessible by public transportation that originally motivated Workforce Windsor-Essex to create this map, explains the organization’s director.
According to Justin Falconer, there are about 18 services listed on this map, including public transport, daycare centers and training schools.
You can see employment clusters in certain areas like South Windsor, Downtown and Leamington.
Continuous service
Falconer said the site is updated daily through an automated system that recognizes job postings from other sites.
This saves people from spending the day checking different websites
said Mr Falconer.
Employers can also contact Workforce Windsor-Essex to add their own job postings to the online job board.
The website can also be translated into over 100 different languages to accommodate Windsor’s diverse population.
It helps a lot to be able to read offers in your native language
he said.
The tool was launched on February 7, but Mr Falconer says the response has already been very positive.
Our online analytics system shows that 3,500 unique visitors used this tool in two weeks.
The interactive map is available on the Workforce Windsor-Essex website.
