The long-term rental company kept its managed fleet at more than 700,000 vehicles worldwide in 2022, while also exceeding 100,000 units in France. Alphabet also took 200,000 orders.
Alphabet has never made growing its fleet a top priority. As evidence, the long-term rental company has been stagnating at 700,000 managed vehicles worldwide since 2021. The portfolio thus remains relatively stable in a difficult environment characterized by high inflation and shortages.
This is not yet reflected in the number of vehicles on the road, but the BMW Group subsidiary took 200,000 orders in 2022. A relatively high volume, even if it remains below the 250,000 recorded in 2021, the day after an unusual 2020.
31% electrified controls
The rental company also points out that of the 200,000 vehicles signed last year, 31% are electrified models. A trend that continues to accelerate.
“We exceeded our growth target for the share of electrified vehicles in our new orders. We continue our mission of raising awareness, advising and supporting our customers to help them manage their fleet more responsibly and sustainably,” explained Markus DeusingCEO of Alphabet International.
Still on an international level, remember that Alphabet continued its expansion in 2022 with the opening of locations in Canada and Finland. The landlord is now present in 33 countries.
103,000 vehicles in France
France is one of its main subsidiaries. The structure performed Stephane Crasnier claims 103,000 vehicles under contract at the end of 2022. The mark of 100,000 units was exceeded during the year.
“In France, we are proud to have passed the symbolic milestone of 100,000 vehicles in the fleet in 2022. This achievement is a direct result of our teams’ strong commitment to our customers and our partners to establish a high quality of service and an enduring relationship”explains the CEO of Alphabet France.
The French subsidiary is also pleased to have reached a 40% share of electrified vehicles in its orders. A share that should continue to grow in 2024, both in France and internationally.
