After the success of the very first edition, Curling Saguenay will organize a second edition of the Summer Series. The event will take place again in Saint-Félicien at the Center Marianne St-Gelais from August 6th to 27th.
The Summer Series kicks off with Curling Quebec Junior Training Camp August 6-9.
“It’s very interesting for Curling Quebec to be able to hold their training camp so early in the season and especially in the arena. This is a huge plus for the experience of our future Quebec stars,” says Alanna Routledge, General Manager of Curling Quebec.
From August 10th to 13th, the categories U21 women and U21 men as well as the seniors category will take place.
The second weekend, August 17-20, will see many of the best teams in the world compete in the mixed doubles division. A class open to 8 teams will also be on the programme.
Last weekend, from August 24th to 27th, the men’s and women’s categories of the World Circuit were combined.
“We believe this men’s date change will attract a greater number of high-quality teams,” explains Jean-François Charest, Treasurer of Curling Saguenay.
Parallel to the Summer Series, teams competing in the 5 main categories earn points for their national, provincial or regional federation/federation with each win, with the goal of winning the Strata Federations Cup.
Remember, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean pulled off a nice surprise by winning the 2023 title, ahead of Canada Elite, Montreal and Quebec.
Tickets for the 3-week competition priced at $75 (Privilege) or $100 (VIP) are already on sale at curlingsaguenay.com.
