Speaking before the joint special committee to declare a crisis situation on Thursday night, Ms Thomas pointed out that deputy ministers met for the first time this week to discuss such a possibility.

Mrs. Thomas and Mr MacDonald both appeared before this special committee of lawmakers and senators examining the federal government’s decision to invoke the emergency law in response to last winter’s protests.
The committee’s study is taking place alongside the Commission on the State of Emergency, a public inquiry looking into the same issues.
Lessons learned from the convoy
