Four people are in serious condition in hospital after two traffic accidents within hours of each other in Brampton.
Peel Region Police were alerted to an initial collision that occurred just after midnight on Sunday near the intersection of Main Street and Gillingham Drive. According to police, two vehicles were involved. Three occupants were taken to the hospital: two with serious injuries and the other with life-threatening injuries.
Main Street, one of the city’s main arteries, remained closed in both directions for the purpose of the investigation in this area.
The second collision occurred at dawn. Emergency services were called at 7:40 a.m. near Central Park Drive and Bramalea Road, about 6km east of the first crash. According to police, one person was seriously injured and two vehicles were involved. Bramalea Street remained closed late this morning.
Additionally, Ontario Provincial Police reported three separate collisions on Highway 410 near Courtney Park Drive, still in Brampton, on Sunday morning. No indications of possible injuries were communicated. All three right lanes of the northbound highway were closed for most of the morning.
