The USA celebrated its first tournament victory after the defeat against Sweden the day before.

Caufield contributed to his team’s third power play goal by initiating the sequence that led to Johnny Gaudreau’s goal. Then Luke Hughes made it 4-1 for the United States in the second period, grabbing a rebound from the small nO 22.

On the American side, Brady Tkachuk, Michael Kesselring, Trevor Zegras and Mikey Eyssimont also finished. The German answer came from Yasin Ehliz’s stick.

Mathias Niederberger was particularly challenged in the game and fended off 37 of the 43 shots aimed at him. Alex Lyon and Trey Augustine scored together for the USA.

Rohrer reports

Another member of the Habs organization redacted the score sheet during the course of Saturday. Vinzenz Rohrer’s striker set up the only goal for Austria, which lost 5-1 to Denmark.

Previously, defender Kaiden Guhle also picked up an assist in Canada’s 4-2 win over Great Britain.
