Warner Bros. Discovery presents Bugs Bunny to the symphony orchestra

Legendary Looney Tunes characters come to Canada for a concert film tour Bugs Bunny in the symphony orchestrawhich will stop in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto in January 2024!

The tour celebrates 35 years of this stunning production, a collaboration between George Daugherty, David Ka Lik Wong and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and is acclaimed by critics and audiences around the world.

To mark this great occasion, the creator of the original production, the masterful George Daugherty, will lead the FILMharmonic Orchestra on the tour. Enthusiasts from all walks of life can share the joy of unforgettable adventures Bugs Bunny and his crazy friends, all in a whirlwind of classical music.

Directed by Mr. Daugherty and created by Emmy Award-winning Mr. Daugherty and Mr. David Ka Lik Wong, Bugs Bunny in the symphony orchestra has toured the world with major symphony orchestras and at legendary venues since 1990, when the production premiered to sold-out audiences at the Gershwin Theater Bugs Bunny on Broadway. Since then, the concert has sold out and received rave reviews worldwide, with hundreds of orchestras and venues from the New York Philharmonic to the Boston Pops to the Chicago Orchestra, from Philadelphia to the Royal Philharmonic… from the Hollywood Bowl to the Sydney Opera House to the Lincoln Philharmonic Center in New York. The concert was also performed across Canada with the country’s major symphony orchestras.

This new version of Bugs Bunny in the symphony orchestra brings together 16 brilliant, iconic short films from Looney Tunes projected on the big screen, incl What is Opera, Doc?, The Rabbit of Seville, stick bunny, Zoom and boredomAnd Kitschy concertas well as five brand new animated short films. Their stirring scores by Carl Stalling, infused with classical music, will be performed live by the Orchester FILMharmonique de Montréal.

George Daugherty has conducted more than 250 American and international orchestras. He has also received a Primetime Emmy Award, five additional Emmy Award nominations and numerous other honors for his work in television and film. He has been a frequent guest conductor with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Detroit Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Seattle Symphony, the Danish National Symphony, the Orchester de la Suisse Romande and the Hong Kong Philharmonic as well as the symphony orchestras of Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton and the NAC, among others. He has conducted the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra 22 times at the Hollywood Bowl and the National Symphony Orchestra 20 times at the Wolf Trap. He has been frequently invited to conduct the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in London, as well as tours of the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. A renowned ballet and opera conductor, he has conducted for the American Ballet Theater, the Bavarian State Opera and Ballet, La Scala Ballet, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Bellas Artes and many other companies. He has also served as Music Director of the Chicago Ballet, Chicago City Ballet, Louisville Ballet and San Jose Ballet, to name a few. George Daugherty and his partner David Ka Lik Wong received Primetime Emmys as executive producers of the ABC animated and live-action production “Peter and the.” Wolf by Prokofiev, which Daugherty also directed, wrote and directed and for which he also received an Emmy nomination for Best Musical Direction. Daugherty and Wong also served as executive producers and writers on the children’s series Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese cat cat, aired on PBS/Sesame Workshop, and both were nominated for Emmy Awards Rhythm & Jamtheir series of music education specials that air on the ABC network.
