The seventh wave of the pandemic has been felt in the region for a few weeks.
Since July 7, the number of vaccines administered has increased from 1,500 to 3,000 per week.
The regional director of the vaccination campaign, Marc Thibeault, noted that the population was responding to the call made by the national director of public health, Luc Boileau, who on Thursday recalled the importance of getting one or two booster doses of the vaccine .
Since the announcement by Dr. Boileau, with the kids and to sort out the booster doses, we had a boost today [vendredi] and there are websites [où ça a] quadruple. We’ll see next week, but there’s been a big spike in appointments. We see that the virus has not taken a vacation
specified Marc Thibeault in an interview with Telejournal Saguenay–Lac Saint Jean.
the CIUSSS
expects the number of appointments booked to continue to increase in the coming weeks. About 40% of the regional population received neither of the two available booster doses. As for the vaccination campaign just launched in Quebec for children aged six months to four years, appointments in the region’s vaccination centers are currently slow.
It’s pretty quiet. We have about fifty appointments for next week. We have made 1000 appointments per week available for the next three weeks
