UFC: Canadian fighter Elias Theodorou (34) has died of cancer

Elias Theodorou died of stage four liver cancer on Sunday 11 September.

The Canadian sports television network TSN sportsrevealed the death of the fighter Elias Theodorou which took place on Sunday September 11th. The 34-year-old athlete “had privately battled stage 4 liver cancer and only told a select group of people about his diagnosis”said the TV station.

Twenty-two fights were fought

During his fighting career, Elias has fought 22 fights, 11 of them in thecfu with a satisfactory record of 19 wins and three losses. Dana White, the current President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), reacted to the Canadian fighter’s death by writing on social media: “Rest in peace”.

A “Cannabis Athlete”

Elias Theodorou is also known for promoting medicinal cannabis considers itself as “Cannabis Athlete”. Last December, the Canadian became the first professional athlete ever in North America to compete with a therapeutic use license for medicinal cannabis.
