It was almost a year before Jean Roy and Pierre Montminy gave each of their motorcycles a second life.
” For me it’s at least 10 or 11 months. »
Their workshop in Sherbrooke mainly stocks Yamaha models, the oldest dating back to 1971.
When you start with one brand, it seems like you want to save them all. My goal is that such motorcycles do not go to school scrap metal
added the motorcycle enthusiast.
The passion is far from over for the two cousins. They just want to buy new models to fill their garage.
I told myself it will calm down one day. I always tell myself I won’t buy anything anymore, it’s the last thing I buy. Sometimes there are offers I can’t refuse
said Jean Roy.
The latter regards Pierre Montminy as his brother. They rebuild these bikes with their original parts ordered in the USA.
Jean and I lost touch for 25 years, then a passion for motorcycles brought us together. We’ve seen each other every week since then.
I had my motorcycles appraised by professional appraisers. These are bikes that sold new for $750 and $800
said Mr. Montminy.
The buddies are now looking to find a 1970 Yamaha 650cc bike to complete their collection. It takes time, passion and money to restore these bikes to their former beauty and energy.
