Transformation to value-based healthcare in Canada: Key elements of systemic implementation

In November 2023, the Krembil Center for Health Management and Leadership, in collaboration with the Conference Board of Canada, organized a virtual roundtable entitled Applied VBHC in action. It brought together five leaders from Canadian and international Value-Based Health Care (VACC) organizations to share their experiences and observations on the VACC efforts they lead. In their leadership roles, these experts advocate for SSAV approaches across healthcare, clinical, academic and patient populations.

SSAV leaders identify five key challenges and driving factors impacting the adoption, implementation and integration of SSAVs in Canada. They also provide recommendations for true transformation that prioritizes important patient and physician outcomes, as well as financial accountability for provincial, territorial and federal government agencies.
