“Alto's Odyssey,” a pseudo-sequel to the smash hit “Alto's Adventure,” is out Thursday (Snowman)
Alto's adventure (Translated: Alto's Adventure) has been downloaded more than 30 million times on Android since its release.
Born three years ago from the imagination of Canadian Ryan Cash and a partnership with Harry Nesbitt, a fellow British artist and computer programmer, Alto's adventure offers a second version called Alto's Odyssey (Transl.: Altos Odyssey) on Apple iOS.
Alto's adventure is a side-scrolling video game in which a snowboarder performs a series of jumps to catch escaping llamas.
A simple and addictive game
Very simple at the beginning, both in concept and in process, Alto's adventure quickly struck a chord with video game fans.
However, Ryan Cash was so busy in front of his screens and computers that it took him a while to realize how successful his game actually was.
Someday, Alto's adventure topped Apple Store purchases in Canada and the US, as well as the UK, Finland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand and even China.
Prices
Apple Canada declared it the “best game of 2015” and Product Searchwas awarded the title “Best Video Game of 2015”.
This led Ryan Cash to surround himself with a team of developers to release the game on other platforms, notably Android and XBox Live.
A sequel for Alto's adventurehere is Alto's Odyssey
With no intention of releasing a sequel as such to the original game, Ryan Cash's team will be presenting soon Alto's Odysseywhere snowboarders become sandboarders taking on deserts around the world.
At least that's what we can see in the pre-sale trailer.
