This Wednesday, March 24, 2023, government agencies, ministries, employers’ associations and Togolese private sector entrepreneurs met with a delegation of Canadian economic actors from the province of New Brunswick. This delegation of 4 members will be in the Togolese capital Lomé from 20th to 23rd March 2023.
The aim was to examine opportunities for exchange and cooperation on issues of common interest, particularly related to trade and investment, and in the port, shipping, energy and mining sectors for win-win partnerships.
The exchange enabled the Canadian delegation to discover Togo’s attractive sectors, in particular trade and investment opportunities, fixed assets, business climate, current strategic infrastructures, competitive economic sector advantages, Togo’s energy sector. Values that inspire enthusiasm and support in delegation.
“This visit of business people aims to explore ways of partnership in key sectors of socio-economic activities and related to labor and professional migration,” explained ANPE Director-General Kossi Tsiglo.
It should be noted that the delegation will be led by Gaëtan Thomas, President and CEO of the New Brunswick Province Business Council. During his speech, he said that the delegation he is leading meets the expectations of economic actors and companies in the province in the port, shipping, energy and mining sectors. He did not hide his joy at seeing Togo on the rise, full of ambition, rigor and discipline.
“I see the potential, the opportunities in this country. It’s incredible. For me you have a vision for education and also for the education of people. A country’s economic and environmental future depends on education,” said Mr Gaëtan Thomas.
“They discovered IFAD through the Education Development Agency and were very intrigued and very happy with what we are doing in Togo through IFAD. We introduced them to the Head of State’s vision that led to the creation of IFAD. We presented them how the training in the IFADs is conducted and the quality of the human resources that will take place during the training in the IFADs. Through our exchanges, we have discovered very observant people willing to work in a win-win partnership with Togo in general,” noted Mr. Nassini Commi, Director of the Educational Development Agency.
Regarding expectations, DG Nassini noted: “We educate our learners well within the framework of the dual degree and one of our needs is to really strengthen this pole of the dual degree with the professional world, so that the companies really listen to us and part ours are goals”.
It should be noted that this visit takes place as part of the recruitment process of 13 compatriots for the positions of general worker and butcher, which the ANPE has coordinated with the managers of the Nadeau Poultry Farm, the second largest company specialized in the production of poultry in the province New Brunswick in Canada, which has expressed a need for skilled workers.
