Based in Singapore Canada-ASEAN Business Council appointed Thi Be Nguyen as Managing Director for Canada. Her mandate will be to open the first Canadian office in Montreal and lead and oversee the organization’s development in the country, based on very solid foundations and an extensive network of partners from coast to coast. His role will also be to establish political, diplomatic and business relationships with the governments, embassies, high commissions and companies of Canada and Southeast Asia.
Thi Be graduated from Concordia University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Commerce. She holds a Certificate in Global Diplomacy in the Modern Era from the University of London and a Certificate of Achievement in Sustainable Development Strategy from Stanford University.
She has more than 20 years of experience in business, public affairs, diversity and inclusion, community engagement and international relations. For ten years she was a director in the presidential office of outgoing National Bank of Canada President Louis Vachon. She managed a portfolio of 25 million in pan-Canadian and international social and business engagements and initiated social impact projects, particularly with the United Nations Association in Canada, UNDP Cambodia, CABC, UniAction, the Vietnamese Cultural Centre, the Canadian Red Cross and Vietnam Reds Cross. In 2016, she was named Diversity Personality of the Year 2015 in the TOP20 for diversity in Quebec by the Média Mosaïque press agency.
