As we reported earlier this week, the popular host Tony Marinaro was officially discontinued by the broadcaster BPM Sportswhere he will have his own two-hour daily show and will be on air Monday to Friday between 10am and 12pm.
In addition, we informed you yesterday that there will be several important program changes for next season.
During a recent episode of Sick PodcastMarinaro had some confidences while speaking to the journalist Eric Engels from Sportsnet.
The main prospect stated that the broadcaster had actually been trying to convince him to join them for years, but it was only this year that he finally accepted their offer.
They have been calling me for 7 years. I finally decided to accept. A lot of people aren’t aware of this, but the first time they tried to recruit me, it was 91.9 Sports and they called me into their offices in Laurier. They told me they wanted to hire me, but I said no because I thought I would never leave the station I was at at the time. It was a stupid decision as I would have made a lot more money if I had left seven years ago. But better late than never!
-Tony Marinaro
We will remember Marinaro, who was the star presenter on the radio TSN had left the station in 2022 to focus on his podcast and work with Jean-Charles Lajoie on television and radio.
He also added that a special clause had been included in his contract allowing him to continue to manage the company Sick Podcast on YouTube.
Loved by listeners, this is a huge success for the station and will undoubtedly push the ratings for this time slot to new heights.
