There is still optimism among supporters

Last night I told you about the Montreal Canadiens’ bench pick at No. 3e NHL rank according to Byron Bader of the HockeyProspecting.com website. How life goes well sometimes, The Athletic’s Montreal team’s annual poll was released today to gauge the opinion of the Canadian’s fans. While this exercise is not scientific, I am pleased to report that many of us are very excited about the rebuilding process that is currently taking place on the Habs.

We are more than 90% of respondents who said they are willing to wait 2-4 years before Canadian achieves lasting success!

Ninety percent!!!

It’s not a small majority of the skin of the buttocks, friends.

We therefore have majority confidence in the process that began last season following the hiring of Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes and this ties in closely with the confidence we have in them. According to The Athletic poll, just 3.1% of respondents say they trust the duo below the passing mark. In more than 87% of the ballots, they scored more than 8 out of 10 points. Again, these are very impressive numbers.

And her love rating is up slightly from the August 2022 poll when he ” only » 86% score of 8 or more out of 10. In other words, seeing the team bottom in the league had no negative impact on Montreal Canadiens fans!

Remember when we were told for years that it was impossible to rebuild in Montreal and that backers wouldn’t buy the project?

Anyone who said that was in the field. I’m sorry to say it like that, but that’s not a bad thing!

I wish I could tell you that everything is beautiful in Montreal’s brave new world right now, but that would be misleading. When asked about the Canadian’s top obstacle to success, nearly 33% of respondents answered that there was no solid option online, while 35.9% of respondents spoke in lieu of a lack of high-level hopefuls. So even with the most general optimism, there are still some questions about the future of the team. While there is Lane Hutson to make you dream (at least he makes me dream), it’s true that with a profile like this in his bank, the CH doesn’t have much hope. The next hope run could very well make up for this lack with an advantageous lottery next Monday at 8 p.m.

Another downside to note: When Juraj Slafkovsky was called up to qualify for the NHL’s first season, 48% of people responded that it was okay to go without. That comes pretty close to my personal assessment. I would have liked to have seen him in more games to refine my assessment but even that we have to acknowledge he didn’t break anything on his first steps on the Bettman circuit.

In conclusion, 56.7% of respondents say Kaiden Guhle is the most exciting hope for our Glorious, leaving Slaf out of the equation. It doesn’t surprise me at all as he’s been excellent this season. Maybe I’m a little too dreamy, but I would have thought that Lane Hutson, 2e in the overall standings would have gotten more than his 28.9%. That’s not bad, but for a guy who had better stats than Brian Leetch, Adam Fox and Cale Makar in his rookie season in the NCAA, that still seems a bit low to me. I am sure you will tell me that I am addicted to details! Arber Xhekaj (4.5%), Logan Mailloux (2.7%) and Joshua Roy (2.5%) complete the top five.

Finally, I invite you to read them Text by Arpon Basu and Marc Antoine Godin as there are some other issues that I haven’t addressed here that deserve to be discovered.

Much

– Mats Naslund and Cole Caufield, same fight despite 40 years difference.

– While we wonder if he’s still the man for the job in Ottawa, DJ Smith will once again be behind Canada’s bench at the World Cup.

– Akira Schmid is the flavor of the day… no, of the month in the NHL.

– Another magical statement for André Tourigny.

– According to Blain Potvin, Ethan Gauthier is the top contender in the QMJHL.
