The Laval Rocket defeated the Utica Comets 5-2 and picked up at least a point for the 10th straight game on Wednesday night at Place Bell.

The Montreal Canadiens' farm club in the American League maintained a 9-0-2 record during their winning streak and also enjoyed victory in their last five games.

Head coach Jean-François Houle's team was down 2-1 after 40 minutes of play. In the third period, Gabriel Bourque equalized with his first goal of the season.

It was Mitchell Stephens who scored the winning goal with less than six minutes to play. The latter was transferred to the development cycle by CH the day before.

Logan Mailloux scored the fourth and fifth goals for the winners, including one in an empty net. William Trudeau scored the first goal for the Rocket, while Brian Halonen scored twice for the visitors.

In front of the cages, Jakub Dobes made 26 saves in the win and Akira Schmid stopped 27 pucks in the loss.

In addition, attacker Joshua Roy was not in Laval's squad for this duel. The Quebecer was sold by the Canadian earlier this afternoon after spending six games in the National League.

The Rocket will now travel to Syracuse to take on the Crunch on Friday night. The next day, the Habs farm club meets the Americans in Rochester.
