The Toronto Raptors have been struggling to gain traction since the beginning of the campaign, so they are 13-15. However, those in charge of the Queen City team are not giving up and are convinced that the solution lies within.
On Wednesday, Nick Nurse’s men collapsed in front of their fans who had gathered at Scotiabank Arena. They led the Sacramento Kings for more than three quarters before falling 124-123.
The Raptors lost a third game in a row. Their recent trip to Florida wasn’t the best as they were twice defeated by one of the NBA’s worst teams, the Orlando Magic.
“I feel like as a group, unit and organization we’re trying to stay positive,” youngster Scottie Barnes said after Wednesday’s game, according to the Toronto Sun. It really was a game within our reach. We should have won.”
“But we’re trying to keep our heads up and get back to work tomorrow [vendredi]. We must examine daily what we can do to correct and improve the situation.

The only Canadian team on the Silver Circuit experienced some issues in the infirmary early in the season. The “raps” now have to compose without the services of Precious Achiuwa, Otto Portersohn and OG Anunoby.
This is no time for excuses, however, and the presence of stars like Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet should show up in the earnings column.
“We have to find a way to get our confidence and energy back,” Siakam said. We have to win a few games and the picture of the situation will be very different.
“Once you win a first game it can become contagious and lead to other positive outcomes,” Thaddeus Young added.
To end their slide — the Raptors have lost six of their last 10 games — they need to stay true to their identity, according to the Nurse.
“We seem to have lost confidence in our decision making and our efficiency at the basket and that is affecting what we do,” concluded the head coach. We can’t let these factors affect our identity and our team philosophy, but it is the case now.
The Queen City team will attempt to muzzle Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets in Toronto on Friday.
