The Toronto Raptors beat the Oklahoma City Thunder by 48 minutes en route to a 128-111 win Thursday at Scotiabank Arena.
Nick Nurse’s side won every quarter of the game and started in the final half thanks to a quality collective effort. All members of the “Raps” from the age of five have collected at least 16 points.
Pascal Siakam (25 points, 14 rebounds) and Jakob Poeltl (16 points, 12 rebounds) led the way with a double-double each. The latter managed a spectacular slam dunk, especially in the second quarter, after receiving a nice pass from Scottie Barnes.
It’s the second straight win for the Raptors. They edged the Atlanta Hawks within half a game and finished eighth in the NBA Eastern Conference.
On the Thunder side, who had won six of their seven previous duels, Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued his momentum and was the only player to pose a real problem for the Raps. The player with the 5th best points average per game on the Silver Tour has accumulated 29.
As for him, the Montreal Luguentz Dort had some efficiency problems in the basket. He made just one of his six shots from downtown, adding 10 points to the board. However, his eight rebounds and five assists are not to be overlooked.
