The hat trick of the “Cole Caufield of the Alouettes” is not enough

Three touchdowns for small wide receiver Tyler Snead! A hat-trick for the man already nicknamed ‘Cole Caufield of the Alouettes’.

The 5 foot athlete. 7 inch. After assists from quarterback Cody Fajardo, the game tied twice in the fourth quarter instead of once. Still, the Alouettes lost 35-27 to the Toronto Argonauts on Friday night at Percival Molson Stadium.

It was a David Ungerer III touchdown that tipped the scales for the visitors with less than two minutes left. It’s the first time since 1983 that Argos have gone unbeaten after their first four games of the season. The Alouettes threatened until the last second. Vain.

A good show!

Before his two majors in the fourth quarter, which ended 20-20 and then 27-27, Snead first stood out in the closing seconds of the first half when he caught a 17-yard pass from Fajardo in the end zone.

All in all, the Alouettes showed a very good performance, even if they suffered their third loss in a row. Head coach Jason Maas’ team is now on a week’s break. The team’s next game is on Sunday, July 30, again in Montreal against the Calgary Stampeders.

Commissioner satisfied

All may not be 100% perfect on the field just yet, but the Alouettes’ current situation is enough to please Canadian Football League commissioner Randy Ambrosie on a staffing level. The Percival Molson Stadium actually hosted the commissioner on Friday night. No doubt the 60-year-old is happy with the turnaround since the team was sold to local owner Pierre Karl Péladeau.

“From the beginning of the process [de la vente], Pierre Karl Péladeau was very positive and very professional. And things have only gotten better since the takeover, noted Mr. Ambrosie, who is used to visiting every CFL city at least once during the regular season. Discussions with this owner, as well as with the President of the Alouettes, Mark Weightman, are very constructive. They help the league grow.”

Montreal Canadiens player Rafaël Harvey-Pinard received a warm round of applause from the crowd at Percival Molson Stadium on Friday night as he was introduced prior to the game between the Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts.

Often criticized since the beginning of the season, the offensive players of the Alouettes also showed a strong game.

Quebec’s Marc-Antoine Dequoy stood out in the first quarter by scoring an interception on quarterback Chad Kelly. Dequoy is an important part of the Sparrows’ defense unit. He was also inducted into the Canadian Football League Roll of Honor earlier this week for his performance in week five of activities.
